On August 23, 2019, 2019 China Habitat Environment Forum and Formaldehyde-free Wood-based Panels Logo Ceremony were held in Beijing. The meeting was presided over by Shi Feng, Secretary General of China National Forest Products Industry Association. Li Yuyin, Deputy Director of China National Forestry and Grass Bureau Reform and Development Department, addressed that, with the strengthening of consumers’ concept of “environmental protection and health”, the higher demand for living environment, the quality of products is attracting more and more attention. China National Forest Products Industry Association has been committed to making supply chains of formaldehyde-free wood-based panels and its products, which began to manage wood-based panels and its product from the source, trace the relevant source from the end products and made efforts to provide a formaldehyde-free and healthy environment for consumers. The ceremony called together experts, scholars and entrepreneurs in the field of formaldehyde free to discuss the new technology and development trend in the industry development of formaldehyde-free panel and its products, aiming at pushing the innovation of formaldehyde-free panel to a new high.

At the meeting, Lv Bing, Deputy Director of Research Institute of Wood Industry in Chinese Academic of Forestry and Director of National Center for Quality Supervision and Testing of Wood and Bamboo Products, said, forest products are combined with the interests of people directly. How to reduce release quantity of formaldehyde in wood-based panels and its products has always been our priority. Green, environmental, high-quality products, are basic responsibility to the society and consumers. The new technology and new ideas of distributed, open, interconnected and unchangeable big ledger can ensure real, unique information, confirm the ownership of information, and realize the exchange of value. The formaldehyde-free product label and its traceability system can fully confirm this point.

Fu Yuejin, Depute Director of National Center for Quality Supervision and Testing of Wood and Bamboo Products were introduced The Situation and Development Trend of Formaldehyde-free and its Products in detail. According to the group standard of China National Forest Products Industry Association 3002-2018 T/CNFPIA Formaldehyde-free Wood-based Panels and its Products and No.84 [2018]. Confirmation Regulation of Formaldehyde-free Wood-based Panels and its Products, there have been dozens of companies got the formaldehyde-free certification by Beijing Green Forest Certification Co., Ltd. Recently, in order to meet the increasing demand for formaldehyde-free wood-based panels, China has made a series of standards for formaldehyde-free or low-formaldehyde wood-based panels. For example, the industry standard Technical Requirements of Green Wood-Based Panels and its Products, group standard Formaldehyde-free Wood-based Panels and its Products, national standard Green Products Comment---Wood-Based Panels and Wood Floor, and developing national standard Formaldehyde-Free Release Classification of Wood-Based Panels and its Products. With the help of the mature production of formaldehyde-free adhesive, expansion of the production of formaldehyde-free additive wood-based panel, the promotion of high-end consumers, the guidance of the government and related agencies, and the upgrading of standards, China’s formaldehyde-free wood-based panels will achieve great growth and better future.

At the meeting, Tang Qian, Executive General Manager of Youcai from China Real Estate Association, stressed the document, Green Demand of Real Estate Enterprises Under the Background of Hardcover Houses. And she argued that the era of ‘hardcover houses’ has begun with the implementation of policies and upgrade of consumption. The quality of wood products become the key to quality of China habitat environment. Thus, free formaldehyde in wood became the most important environmental protection index for consumers. In order to strengthen the cooperation, give full play to the advantages and promote the industry innovation, scientific and technological progress, Beijing Green Forest Certification Co,. Launched officially formaldehyde-free wood-based panels and logo was the key to the forum. It provided reliable label, standardized the identification system of formaldehyde-free products, and improved the quality of wood-based panels.
